"Thunder" (Thunder)

So I just posted a story about a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
The ONLY reply to it so far is one of these damn Make Tons Of Money Sitting On Your A$$ things.
I'm "scared" to research this, as it may legitimize that crap post and un-grey it.
So my question is: can't Kinja have a bot or something wandering the forums, looking for characteristically crappy posts? "Start working at home with Google!" for example. If a post is found with that, blow the account away.

Flag it as spam and dismiss it. I think that's the only solution.

not much we can do. Flag it and we'll ban that user but I do that at least once a day with new users.

That takes care of the individual post... but how about the account?
I don't know what's involved in creating these burner accounts, but if it's something that requires a human touch, and they get blown away after perhaps 10 flagged posts (or a percentage of overall posts that are flagged, or something)... maybe we can make progress at plugging the dam, so to speak.

When it's flagged as spam it goes to the mods and I believe they have the ability to ban the account from the particular blog that it was posted on (Oppo in this case).

I don't know that kinja deletes accounts. Individual blogs can block them, but shits like this guy: http://news-making.kinja.com/ continually pop up in other places.

As a former programmer / software engineer / data architect and now manager of data architects / metadata / reference data folks... can I suggest automating it?
It's gotta have a backend database... I bet there's a SQL query we could use to clean things up.
Also - I didn't know you were part of Gawker staff, HammerheadFistpunch. Learn something every day...

That's the problem, I'm not part of gawker staff; All the mods here are unpaid volunteers and as such we don't have any backend access. You can make a request to the tech team but I suspect they are getting these requests 50x a day already.
